Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her real name Ari Lennox is an American artist and songwriter hailing born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be contracted to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. On the 21st October of 2016 she dropped Pho, her debut EP for the Dreamville Records label. It was at this point that she first gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox released her debut tracks online in 2012. The singer released her debut album five singles in 2013 and Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to upload her music via the internet including her independently release single Bound. In 2015she sung on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, performing the song Sweat it out on the 21st of July. J. Cole asked her to be a part of his collaboration on Rihanna's reference. Then, later in the period, she released music that circulated all over Dreamville. The day after Christmas, she reported that she had contracted to Dreamville Records. On the Album Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat with Cozz. Then, in October 2016 she debuted her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance to J. Cole on his song Change in the year 2017 and performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she performed as a guest performer on two songs with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream off her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video which debuted on the 5th of September. Then, in November, she released singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. The 13th of November, she released two more singles: One and Pedigree. One as well as Pedigree. Later, she was featured as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same name. The song was followed by an accompanying music video that debuted on February 20 2019 and was viewed by 3 million people on YouTube within its first seven days. She was the supporting act for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
